About Versilia: the back story

Versilia is Tuscany’s riviera: long sandy beaches lined with bathing establishments, the Apuan Alps rising straight behind them, and the art town of Pietrasanta in between.

Forte dei Marmi

The pier, the beach clubs and the Principe and Byron hotels; five starred restaurants.

Viareggio

The Liberty-style seafront, the canal port and the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte with two-star Il Piccolo Principe.

Versilia has eight MICHELIN-starred restaurants in the 2026 guide, five of them in Forte dei Marmi.

Pietrasanta

A town of marble and bronze workshops, galleries and a handsome cathedral square.

Our advice: book a beach club umbrella for July and August; in June and September the coast is quieter.
